Gamla - a Jewish City of the Second Temple Period was the subject of the 2005 Helen Diller Family Lecture Series. Dr. Danny Syon, the Israel Antiquities Authority archaeologist who excavated 14 seasons in Gamla, spoke about this fascinating site at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC, the California Palace of the Legion of Honor in San Francisco, as well as in several synagogues on the East Coast and the West Coast, and at the University of Minnesota.
This lecture was the third in the Helen Diller Family Annual Lecture Series: Archaeological Discoveries in Israel.
The lecture series is made possible by a generous grant from the Helen Diller Family Foundation, a Supporting Foundation of the Jewish Community Endowment Fund.
